Art Nouveau inspired handbound blank books

Product of: Isle of Iona

Ships to: Canada, New Zealand, Australia

These books are workshop models for a bookbinding class I taught at Mackintosh at the Willow in the autumn of 2023. The designs were all directly inspired by the book covers of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Talwin Morris. Those with some affinity for these two iconic Art Nouveau designers may well recognise some of the motifs.

They are all roughly A5 in size.

The front covers feature debossed designs with metallic highlights. In keeping with the Nouveau theme the endpapers all have nature-based or geometric designs, and are made from Cambridge Imprint paper which is designed and hand-printed in England.

Every book contains Five Seasons 110gsm paper. It’s slightly off white, has a lovely smooth finish, and is 100% recycled.

Each book also has a ribbon bookmark with visible sewing on the spine.
