Natural Throw from Bute

Natural Throw from Bute

Sold by: Ascog Wool

This wonderfully warming throw has been created using natural colours of the Shetland sheep reared on the Hill of Ascog, and sheared at Ascog Farm on the Isle of Bute.

As we have a limited number of fleeces with varying colours, it takes time to collect enough yarn to create 100% sustainably sourced material direct from the farm.

The two colours of fawn and grey have been woven by Bute Fabrics on the island.

We have chosen a Herringbone weave celebrating the natural colour combination and providing this exclusive and limited edition throw that will look fabulous in your home .

Approximately 120cm wide by 195 cm long.

Ascog Farm covers an area of 150 acres of permanent and rough pasture including Ascog Hill. The land is well suited to providing yearlong outdoor shelter and grazing for the sheep.

With a history of three generations of family farming on the Isle of Bute, Scotland, Ascog Wool is now producing natural undyed yarn reared and sheared from the flocks of Shetland, Cheviot, Herdwick and Texel sheep. The yarn is used to produce hand crafted woven blankets, knitted jumpers, hats, bootees and other items all uniquely designed and created especially to enhance the natural colours and qualities of the wool.
