Wire wrapped pendant using square copper wire enclosing  my handmade resin bead made in the galaxy style. The resin bead has been dyed with alcohol inks in graduated tones of apricot and green.  Each bead is unique and I never know how they will finally look until they are cured.

The pendant measures approx 3.5cm (1.5″) length and 2cm (1″). The copper chain measures approx 50cm (20″) which can easily be adjusted to suit a favourite neck length and has a handmade hook and clasp. Sealed with jewellers wax.

Inspiration

I have really enjoyed making resin beads with alcohol inks and I’ve become fascinated by the ways the colours play together and I just had to incorporate the beads into a wearable item. I have always loved working with copper, especially seeing how the light changes the colours to chestnut and deep rich copper after oxidisation and buffing.

Copper can lose its shine after a while which can be restored with a light buff using a microfibre cloth. Keeping the pendant in the bag provided when not being worn will keep the shine for longer.
