I handcrafted this Celtic penannular unisex brooch with a hammered effect as a way of honouring of the Celts craftsmanship. Inspired from the Celts, this brooch is characterized by its circular shape with a small opening and two prominent ends. Crafted from pure copper, this brooch is meticulously hammered to create an intricate texture that adds depth and detail to the design and gives the brooch a unique, rustic appearance. These brooches were not only functional accessories used to fasten clothing but also served as symbols of status and wealth and it’s functionality in any situations, whether in battle or just everyday cloak worn. The Celtic penannular brooch with its hammered effect is a testament to the skill and artistry of the Celts artisans that continues to captivate admirers with its timeless beauty and historical significance to this day.

Copper is believed to help with arthritis due to its potential anti-inflammatory properties. When worn as jewellery or in the form of copper-infused clothing or accessories, it’s said that the skin absorbs small amounts of copper, which may reduce inflammation and ease joint pain associated with arthritis. However, scientific evidence supporting the efficacy of copper for arthritis relief is limited. Some studies suggest that the skin absorption of copper is minimal and might not be sufficient to have a significant impact on arthritis symptoms. Moreover, the placebo effect could also contribute to perceived benefits. While some people report feeling relief with copper-based products, it’s essential to approach these claims with caution. Consulting with a healthcare professional and considering other proven treatments for arthritis, such as medication, exercise, and physical therapy, remains crucial for effective management of the condition.

Quiet Space Arts

I have been working in the jewellery and art scene here in Orkney for what seems long long time, how time flies when one is having so much fun creating for people who support small businesses. I have been making wire wrapped cabochons and beads for over 5 years and enjoy making them. Being disabled I work from home in my wee craft room and is crammed full of things to make.
