Pretty Little Things Orkney
Making the world a better place one pretty little thing at a time! I live in Orkney and love the changing seascapes, weather, wildlife and all those famous Orkney food and drink products! These islands ooze creativity and it’s lovely to be part of it all. I’ve been papercrafting since 2017 and, as well as being an independent Stampin Up! demonstrator, I run a tiny (‘peedie’ in the Orkney dialect) shop within a larger retail premises in Kirkwall, which is the capital city. For those who don’t know where Orkney is … go to the far north of Scotland, take an hour’s ferry ride across the Pentland Firth, to either St Margarets Hope (the south side of the island) or Stromness (the west side of the island) then drive half an hour to Kirkwall, which is in the middle! Orkney is famous for many things – whisky, gin, fudge, beef, cheese and baking, to name but a few. We also have many artists and craftspeople. We have amazing wildlife – puffins, seaweed eating sheep, otters, sea eagles and sometimes dolphins and orcas! Like many smaller places, word gets around if there are whales to be seen and we rush to the shore to try and catch a glimpse! There are so many things to do and see here – I’m starting to sound like an advert for the Orkney Tourist Board! Anyway, I hope you like my paper products. Making things that make others smile is the goal of my day! And if you never make it across please come and say hi. You’ll easily find me – apparently my voice and laughter carries over a long distance! Blessings, Jan
