A chainmaille keyring in copper-coloured rings.
It comes from Manatee Maille, a one-woman workshop in the Isle of Tiree. Jacqui makes everything by hand with two pairs of pliers and a great many jump rings.
The band is woven in the Persian 6 in 1 pattern, which gives it a dense, rope-like feel in the hand. It measures 3.25 inches including the fixings, with a split ring at one end for keys and a swivel clasp at the other, so it will clip to a bag, a belt loop or a zip pull as readily as it sits in a pocket.
A small, useful present for someone who likes their things plain and well made.
