These drop earrings combine Scotland’s national gemstone Smokey quartz (believed to relieve stress and anxiety) with the protective qualities of jasper. I chose these two gemstones for their earthy colours, thinking of the deep browns of peat and the granite of the Cuillins. The silver plated bead caps add a touch of the fairy folk. They are finished with silver plated ear wires. Drop length 3 cm.

Hi there, my name is Michelle Seviour— the creative force behind Indigo Berry. The beautiful Isle of Skye in the Scottish Highlands has been my home since 1990. My island home overlooks the Loch Harport, with the Cuillins in the distance, so I am literally surrounded by inspiration—from the landscape, history and the culture of Skye. I design and create one of a kind jewellery using a range of materials including silver, gemstones and vintage buttons. A creative idea might start with a glance out of the window at the changing colours in the loch, or perhaps draw on a memory of a Pre-Raphaelite painting from my love of Art.
