A natural slate coaster laser-engraved with a winged fairy figure standing in front of a tree of life, framed by an ornate circular scroll border.
Made by Johnny McMaster of Barnweil in Waternish, Isle of Skye, who works in engraved slate, wood, glass and metal across coasters, platters and tumblers.
The slate is 100mm x 100mm and the surface is lacquered for an easy wipe. The engraving sits in the natural grain of the slate, so every coaster has a slightly different feel underneath.
A nice solo coaster as a stocking filler or part of a set for someone setting up a home.
