Bothy Tealight Holder

£25.00

Product of: Isle of Harris

Ships to: Canada, New Zealand, Australia

I made a selection of these very bright and colourful tealight holders for the opening of The Bothy in Leverburgh which have a few of my larger pieces on display. No two candle holders are exactly the same as the design varies slightly with each one. The photos are a representation of what your candle holder will look like.
The candle holder is made from individually hand cut glass, assembled and fired in my kiln at home. The tea light holder has been fired once in the kiln to create the pattern, and then fired again over a stainless steel beaker to create the lovely draped shape.
This tea light holder is 8 cm high and 8cm wide and comes with a tea light for immediate use. All our tea lights holders are supplied wrapped in tissue paper in a gift box.

I started making fused glass as a hobby with a tiny kiln in the kitchen that was bought as a Christmas present. I fell in love with the process of designing and making glass, experimenting with lots of different ideas. After listing a few things on Etsy I finally invested in a bigger kiln and installed it in a shed at the end of the garden at our house in the Cotswolds.
Things have grown from there and after visiting the Isle of Harris many times over the years we finally took the plunge and bought a house here. My studio is in Cluer, a small village in the bays of Harris and I count my blessings that the picture is the view from my studio window!
I like to experiment with new designs and techniques, and love the excitement of opening the kiln each morning and seeing what transformation has taken place! When not in the workshop I can be found out running with my dog, Scout or coaching gymnastics.
