I have been painting since I was a small child encouraged by my father who was also an artist . Oil painting is a  medium I have recently been experimenting with .  I like working out of doors so after making many drawings on location  along with small colour studies, I return to my studio ( an old hen house )  and work up the finished painting. This takes many weeks as the surface is built up in layers of paint which have to dry before another layer can be added. The oil colours have a depth and richness  that no other paint has.
