Driftwood Earrings

The earrings are made from a piece of driftwood found on Kildonan
shore. This bit of timber probably came from a boat. I let the wood dry then cut into it to see if there are any
interesting patterns. I have sanded them smooth on one side and left them sea sculpted on the other side. Reminds me of the old saying that you’ve got to take the rough with the smooth.
They are approximately 65mm (2.5 inches) long and 12mm (0.5 inches) wide.
They will be sent in the gift-box.

I was a bit surprised at the size of these earrings – they are very big-but realised they would be perfect to go with a wacky jumper I have! They are well made and the grain in the wood is beautiful. I am pleased with them.
