Fred Macamhlaigh- Fear de Mhuinntir Sholais | Fred Macaulay – A Sollas man
Cruinneachadh Bàrdachd Dà-Chànanach | Bilingual Poetry Collection
Fred Macaulay was a man who knew his listeners and the community in which they lived, and a man who understood the power of the spoken and written word.
His poetry, published as one collection for the first time, commemorates his love for Sollas and the land of Uist; they record his thoughts and observations on love and life, and they celebrate the esteem and deep affection in which he held those who were dear to him.
The book is edited by Fred’s daughter, Lindsay Macaulay, with Bill Innes providing an English translation of the poetry and a foreword by Jo Macdonald.

Reviews
Couldn’t believe how quickly this arrived! Ordered 22nd Dec, eve, and was already here on Christmas Eve!
Having listened to programmes of interviews with Fred MacAulay, I was struck by lines of his poetry which flowed so beautifully, and was buying the book for myself, so no particular hurry: just a treat in store…
Also heard an interview with Rhoda Meek on Radio nan Gàidheal about setting up the website, so that was the link I clicked
