Plaques engraved on a Lagg Distillery barrel stave.
Gaelic for ‘Shut the door!’. Engraved on wood reclaimed from a whisky barrel. and finished with a coat of wax. Supplied to be hung like a picture.
Approximate size 400mm long by 75mm tall.
Being made from real wood each piece will be slightly different due to variations in grain etc.
Cat most definitely not included!
If you have a saying in either Gaelic or Scots that is special to you and it’s not on my list, let me know and I am happy to do a one-off for you.

Honest Coffins
I make various items in wood. Currently most of my signs are on oak from Arran whisky barrels. Things like the ashes caskets are made using timber grown in Arran and milled by a friend who lives just up the road. The products will vary slightly according to the piece of wood used. Feel free to contact me with suggestions, especially with Scottish and Gaelic sayings. I’ve just started learning Gaelic so please provide a translation.
