Pauline Prior-Pitt is a poet and performer who has been living on the Isle of North Uist for the last 22 years. She has published seven collections and four pamphlets. ‘North Uist Sea Poems’ won the Callum MacDonald Award.
She writes a lot about women. Her poems, alternately funny and poignant beautifully reflect their preoccupations and the juggling lives they lead.
Her island poems, which are deeply rooted in the life of the Hebridean island she inhabits, take you to the sea and the shores close to her home.
Pauline regularly performs at poetry readings and festivals in Scotland and England. She is one of Scotland’s Live Literature Poets, a former Poet Partner for the Scottish Poetry Library, and the founder of “Last Thursdays” poetry evenings at Taigh Chearsabhagh and the “Uist Writing Workshop”
